Crypt of the Colony Güell
The Colony Güell and the Crypt of Gaudí are a visit obliged for the lovers of the architecture and to only 30 minutes of Barcelona.
The Crypt Güell is a church, declared Heritage of the Humanity by the Unesco and is situated inside the set of the Colony Güell, modernist industrial village built by commission of Eusebio Güell.
To finals the 19th century, Eusebio Güell, employer and mecenas of Antonio Gaudí, decided to move his textile factory out of the city of Barcelona and to his around commanded to build a small village with all the services, so that they lived his workers.

The colony Güell is the biggest of Catalonia and the best conserved. In her they worked different architects of the period, in addition to the genial Gaudí that it commissioned of the construction of the Church, today known with the name of Crypt Güell.

The Crypt, is a surprising and singular church, columns bent, different types of materials, stone, brick and vidrieras of colours…where Gaudí experienced many of his architectural solutions and situated his laboratory to give base to the construction of the construction of the Holy Family.
To complete our visit will direct us to the Centre of Interpretation, situated in the edifice that occupied the ancient economato of the colony and where finds a permanent exposure with explanations of all the architectural set.
